| Developed by the 1940's, Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon and other 12 step support groups were the best solution to alcohol abuse until the mid 1990's. They all rely on "behavioral modification" (BM) which means, willpower. For 15 years now, medical science has known alcohol abuse is a disease caused by a lack of neurotransmitters in the brain.
